Dear Rapid Bay family,

Hope you all enjoyed the long weekend and the opportunity for an extra day with your children. I can’t believe how quickly the term has flown by. Our staff are working incredibly hard to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students, and I want to acknowledge the hard work and dedication all of our staff put in towards making this the great school it is.

Last week I was lucky enough to attend a training day with Simon Breakspear at Victor Harbor. The focus for the training was embracing agile leadership for learning, and ways in which we, as leaders, can have the biggest impact on our learners.

Congratulations to Royce and Lilly Rose on winning Principal’s awards. Royce has done a great job sharing the importance of caring for the environment whilst Lilly Rose continues to demonstrate caring and kindness towards others.

Our class murals are now on displayed the ATCO wall. They look amazing and certainly add to the aesthetics of the school. Massive thanks to Kerstin von Shearing for her work on the project. Thanks also to the District Council of Yankalilla for the grant which supports the project.

Preparations for Sports Day are now well underway, with students practising hard at the different events. I can’t wait to see our new receptions enjoy their first Rapid Bay Sports Day. Programs for the day will be sent home next week.

Clean Up Australia Day

On March 1st Rapid Bay Primary School took part in Clean Up Australia Day. The upper primary students headed into the community to clean up our beautiful foreshore while the middle and junior primary students worked hard to clean up our school grounds. Overall, we collected more than 6 bags of rubbish which was then sorted into categories and disposed of appropriately. As a school we are trying hard to put our rubbish in the bins and keep our yard beautiful.
We also have a guest presentation from Fleurieu Regional Waste Authority on March 15th to help our student better understand their impact on the environment and how they can better manage their rubbish.
Well done Rapid Bay Primary, lets keep up the good work!
