HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Dear Parents/carers

Wow, I can't believe we are in the last week of the school year. It has been an extremely busy last few weeks, and I thank all parents and staff who have worked hard to make our events successful. Events such as the End of Year concert, Camp and Graduation Night are a reminder of how fortunate we are to be part of such a great school community.

Fun Day

A reminder that Thursday is also a casual clothes day.

2019 Staffing

The ends of the school year means saying farewell to staff that are moving on. A big congratulations to Luke Bartlett, who has won a permanent position at Gladstone Area School. The students will miss Luke's enthusiasm and ability to build relationships. We wish him all the best for his time up north.

We are still finalising the staffing for 2019 and will keep everyone informed as the process unfolds.

Uniforms

We have been looking into the possibility of ordering new uniforms for students next year, along similar lines to our camp polo shirts. We are taking expressions of interest so let the school know if you are keen to purchase. Realistically, we would need quite a large bulk order to make the uniforms affordable to all.

Holidays

I know this time of the year can be very stressful. Please remind yourselves and your students that it is even more important than ever to treat each other with kindness. I hope that the Christmas/New Year’s period is a happy time spent with loved ones. Enjoy your time with your children and I look forward to seeing everyone fresh, recharged and eager to learn when we return in late January.

Thanks for your support in my role as Acting Principal. It has been, and will continue to be, a steep learning curve but is a challenge that I embrace with enthusiasm and motivation to help our students be the best they can be.
See you in 2019

Future Communications

From now on the newsletter will be email format only. We hope to utilise digital communication for notification and forms in the future where possible.
