Last Day of Term

Dear Rapid Bay family,

The term is definitely flying by. Staff are putting the finishing touches on the mid year reports. They will be sent home with students on Wednesday of Week 10. Staff are always available if you have any questions or queries regarding your child’s report. If you do have any questions, please make an appointment with the classroom teacher.
Welcome to new students Taj and Koby Palmer, in years 1 and Reception.

Staff Training

Staff have been busily making the most of some exciting personal development opportunities. Vicki Hudson and I attended the initial stages of the Stem 500 program. This is an ongoing project that will enable us to deliver quality and innovative teaching of Stem subjects to our students.
Staff continue to work on the Brightpath writing training and feedback suggests that staff are finding it very useful in planning and assessing student writing.

Site works

Work is underway on our new verandas/ramp area. We look forward to being able to utilise this space once work is completed.

Mechanical Hands

The UP students took on the Stem task of designing a mechanical hand. They planned their designs and then set about using materials to build their prototype. They used design thinking to reflect upon their products and target areas for improvements.

Play is the Way

As a school we are renewing our commitment to Play is the WAY. This is a programme that teaches our students resilience, social skills, teamwork and managing our emotions through the participating in engaging games.

The principles of Play is the WAY include - treating others how you want them to treat you, have reasons for the things you say and do, always do your best no matter who you work with, be brave and participate to progress and making strong, sensible choices.

Work has been commenced on the long awaited verandah replacement. It is scheduled to be finished by the beginning of term 3.
