Dear Parents/Carers,
It is hard to believe that we are heading into the final month of school for the year! It has been an extremely busy year and I look forward to celebrating it at our upcoming end of year events.
Remembrance Day
The school commemorated this important date on Monday with a minutes silence and a range of activities including making poppies and discussing the significance of the day. The staff and students are to be commended on their efforts to ensure our students are aware of the sacrifices of those who have served our nation.
External Review
Our site will undertake our external review next Tuesday. The review team will meet with staff, students, parents and Governing Council members during the day. They will then compile an extensive report of things that we are doing well and areas to focus on for improvement. The final report will be available on our website at the conclusion of the review process.
Reports/2020 Classes
Staff are busy finalising student reports. These will be sent home on Wednesday of Week 9. We are still finalising staffing and classes for 2020 and will let you know more when the process has been completed.
Transition
Our transition program is in full swing! It has been great to meet our new faces and they seem to be enjoying their visits. At this stage we will welcome seven new Reception students in 2020.
Playgroup
Larissa Barry has done a fantastic job so far this term. It has been pleasing to see an increase in numbers and I am hearing positive feedback about the activities being offered. Thanks to Larissa for her continuing efforts. Feel free to bring your child along to an upcoming session on friday at 9.30am..
Book Club
A reminder that Scholastic has many inexpensive books available for purchase. Every purchase also supports our school! Books also make great Christmas gifts and help promote a love of reading in our students.
End of Year Events
It promises to be a busy ending to the year. We will celebrate our year seven students at their Graduation Evening at the Links on Friday the 6th of December.
We will cap the year off with a Carols Night/Night Market on Wednesday the 11th of December, with invitations to be sent home next week.
A reminder that our R-5 students will attend swimming lessons in Week 8 (Mon-Wed) and Week 9 (Mon/Tues) at Victor Harbor Primary. Keep an eye out for permission slips/medical forms in the upcoming weeks.

Finally, the end of year can be a really stressful time for everyone. Students, staff and parents are all tired, so I believe it is even more crucial now to ensure we are treating others with kindness and respect.

Regards
Jen
