Dear Families
Welcome to Term 3! I hope you had a chance to spend some quality family time with your children during the holidays. Hopefully this term will be as close to “normal” as last term ended up being! Whilst things are looking positive in SA with Covid-19, obviously the situation in Victoria is a reminder that things can change quickly. The school and staff continue to follow Department guidelines and I will let you know of any updates if they occur.

Working Bee
A massive thanks has to go out to the grounds committee and all parents that turned up to the working bee during the holidays. The teamwork and positive vibe on the day were amazing to witness and the grounds have never looked better! It is an example of the amazing school community we have here at Rapid Bay and sends a valuable message to our students about the pride we all take in our school. Also, a massive thank you to Claire and Tom for the very generous donation of the compost tumbler! The kids are very keen to learn how to use it and when the compost will be ready. It is a great lesson in sustainability to our kids.

Staff Changes
Last term we farewelled Vicki Hudson, who has won a position with the Department at the Education Centre at Hindmarsh for the remainder of the year. We congratulate her and thank her for her work with our students. Her position will be partly filled by Jo Cramond, who will be teaching 2 days a week. Welcome Jo! We also welcome a new SSO, Annie Nancarrow who will be with us on Mondays and Fridays. Annie did spend some time with the Upper Primary class late last term. Welcome Annie!

Camp notes went home earlier this week for our annual whole school camp. Thanks to the generous donation from RATCH Australia (Starfish Wind Farm), we are able offer the two night camp for the heavily subsidised fee of $100 per student. This represents fantastic value for such an action packed camp. Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you have any questions. Payment plans are also available upon request.

I am really excited about the term ahead and look forward to continuing being a part of such a unique and wonderfully supportive school community.

Kind Regards,
